Medications at School

The Division Policy is very explicit concerning procedures for parents and for the school in matters of medication at school. Bronchial aerosols, EpiPens, and other urgently required medication, “shall be carried at all times on the person of the student requiring the medication…. Where a question arises regarding the urgency of medication or the capability of a student, the parent / guardian shall be required to provide the school with a written statement from the physician authorizing storage in a location other than on the person of the student”.

Should your child require medication at school (prescribed or over-the-counter), forms are available at the school office, and arrangements are coordinated through the assistant administrative secretary. We do ask that whenever possible medication be taken at home.
