Parent Involvement
There are many ways for parents to become involved in the life of the school.
Attend school events
Join us for school events – concerts, sports events, drama etc. Attend to support your child and meet others from our school community.
Volunteering
Teachers will recruit volunteers as needed. They may do this through the agenda book or their classroom newsletter. One volunteer parent from each class may be requested to act as the Room Representative by the classroom teacher. The Room Rep provides support to the teacher when requested, such as arranging classroom volunteers, helping to arrange parties / social events, and making phone calls to other parents as needed. They are also asked to attend parent council meetings to ensure broad representation at the parent council meetings.
Parent Council will also solicit volunteers as needed. There are several events which require volunteers including the Fall Classic, Staff Appreciation, Hot Lunch and many others. Attending Parent Council meetings is a great way to meet other parents and get involved.
All school volunteers must apply for a Child Abuse Registry check. Information can be found at the school office and require two pieces of identification. Volunteers sign in and out at the office while serving at the school.
